Students who have the potential and desire to attend a four year college and…
• Have appropriate classroom behavior.
• Have good attendance.
• Have a desire to do well.
• Have a desire to be more successful in school, but need help.
• Are willing to commit themselves…
• And are willing to give 110% towards their future.
Freshmen:
Freshmen are recommended by their Middle School Counselors and Teacher Teams. Students are recommended who:
1. show few problems with math but need additional help in English, writing specifically,
2. are interested in attending a four (4) year college after high school,
3. are interested in preparing in high school for a successful college experience.
Upper Classmen:
Jay students who attended A.V.I.D. as a freshman, students who are recommended by any of their core teachers, and students who transfer in from another A.V.I.D. program.
