STP (Secondary Teacher Preparation)

General Information: 2 credit course, students examine the secondary teaching field, with emphasis on specific curriculum areas. Internship is at a local middle school. This class may substitute for P.E.

STP FACTS:
Middle School Internship with six through eight graders.
Focuses on teaching children ages ten through eighteen years of age.
Lessons on being an effective teacher, planning lessons, successful classroom management.
Field trips include: Northside Activity Center, UTSA, special schools, museums, Magik Children's Theatre and Elf Louise.
Class includes development of a Professional Portfolio.
