Welcome to the Counseling Department Welcome to the John Jay High School Counseling Department page. The counseling office is open from 8:00 to 4:30 Monday through Friday. Meeting times with the counselors before and after school can be arranged with a phone call or e-mail. We encourage parents to make contact with counselors and form a partnership to help students be successful. School counselors have been teachers at least three years and earn an additional certificate by completing a Master's degree in counseling and meeting other Texas requirements. The counselors at John Jay High School enjoy working with people, are optimistic and believe people can change in positive ways. We work with students, parents, teachers, administrators and other school community members on behalf of students. Success in school and life relates to people's personal, social, career
and educational development. The Comprehensive Guidance Program at John
Jay High School provides age appropriate activities, preventive and remedial
intervention as needed and group and individual counseling for students.
