Kimberly Schmidt

I am originally from the state of Iowa but moved to Texas in July of 1995. I began working at John Jay in January of 1996 after completing a semester of student teaching at Holmes High School. I taught social studies here at Jay for seven years until I became a Jay counselor in January of 2003.

I graduated from Muscatine High School in Iowa and then moved on to the University of Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls. I received my bachelor's degree in Secondary Social Science Education in 1995. After teaching for five years I began attending the University of Texas at San Antonio. I graduated in 2002 with a master's degree in Counseling.

I am married to Jason Schmidt who also works in Northside. He teaches 8th grade U.S. History at Sul Ross Middle School. I have two children, ages five and two. We all enjoy playing and watching sports, camping, canoeing, and spending time with our family and friends.
