The Family and Consumer Science department (formerly known as Home Economics) consists of 7 teachers teaching diverse curricula. Courses span from the traditional cooking, sewing and family classes, to studies of culinary arts, nutrition, hospitality, child development and education preparatory classes. Our students have the unique opportunity to develop job skills through internships and cooperative (co-op) education. Since the family is central to all of our classes, Family and Consumer Science is a must for every student. Classes are designed to meet the TEKS of each course while having creating fun and hands-on activities. |
