1. Launch MS
PowerPoint
2. Open a New
BLANK presentation
3. From the
FILE menu, click VIEW > TOOLBARS. Ensure that DRAWING and WORDART
have a "check"--see picture on right.

4. Activate
WORDART by clicking on the "blue A" icon located on the
TOOLBAR usually located on the bottom of the screen---see picture
on right.

| 5.
Select one of the WORDART templates by clicking on the template of
your choice. You can modify your selection later if necessary. For
my example, I have selected the template indicated by the red arrow
on the right. |

6. Spell out
your name or part of your name such as an initial as I have done
on the right.
7. Select the
font from the drop-down menu. I have selected "Algerian".
Font selection is limited to the fonts installed on your computer
and may vary from computer to computer.
8. Adjust the
size to a large number. We will scale our images later.
9. Click OKAY.

10. You should
now see your results as illustrated on the right. To make changes,
click once on the image to activate the WORDART toolbar.
Notice the six small circles (dots) surrounding the object. These
are called "handles".
11. To modify
the color, click on the "paint bucket and brush" icon
located on the WORDART toolbar. This is not visible unless you have
clicked on the image first.

12. The FORMAT
WORDART dialog box is now visible. Ensure that the "COLORS
and LINES" tab is selected as indicated on the right with the
red circle.
13. Select the
interior fill color from the "drop-down" menu. I have
selected yellow.
14. Select the
line color from the "drop-down" menu. I have selected
red.
15. Changing
the line width is an option. I have changed the line width to "2
pt" (points).
16. Click "Okay".

You should now see your finished product. Repeat the steps above for
each group of letters that you want to include in your final project.

Arrange each group by clicking and dragging. |

Ensure that your letters are large. It will be easier to work with
larger images. |

21. Change the
page color by selecting FORMAT > BACKGROUND from the TOOLBAR.
See arrow on right.
22. From the
BACKGROUND dialog box, use the drop-down menu to select your color.
23. Press APPLY.
