1. Launch MS PowerPoint

2. Open a New BLANK presentation

3. From the FILE menu, click VIEW > TOOLBARS. Ensure that DRAWING and WORDART have a "check"--see picture on right.

4. Activate WORDART by clicking on the "blue A" icon located on the TOOLBAR usually located on the bottom of the screen---see picture on right.

5. Select one of the WORDART templates by clicking on the template of your choice. You can modify your selection later if necessary. For my example, I have selected the template indicated by the red arrow on the right.

6. Spell out your name or part of your name such as an initial as I have done on the right.

7. Select the font from the drop-down menu. I have selected "Algerian". Font selection is limited to the fonts installed on your computer and may vary from computer to computer.

8. Adjust the size to a large number. We will scale our images later.

9. Click OKAY.

10. You should now see your results as illustrated on the right. To make changes, click once on the image to activate the WORDART toolbar. Notice the six small circles (dots) surrounding the object. These are called "handles".

11. To modify the color, click on the "paint bucket and brush" icon located on the WORDART toolbar. This is not visible unless you have clicked on the image first.

12. The FORMAT WORDART dialog box is now visible. Ensure that the "COLORS and LINES" tab is selected as indicated on the right with the red circle.

13. Select the interior fill color from the "drop-down" menu. I have selected yellow.

14. Select the line color from the "drop-down" menu. I have selected red.

15. Changing the line width is an option. I have changed the line width to "2 pt" (points).

16. Click "Okay".

17. You should now see your finished product. Repeat the steps above for each group of letters that you want to include in your final project.
18. Arrange each group by clicking and dragging.
19. My name is on the right.
20. Ensure that your letters are large. It will be easier to work with larger images.

21. Change the page color by selecting FORMAT > BACKGROUND from the TOOLBAR. See arrow on right.

22. From the BACKGROUND dialog box, use the drop-down menu to select your color.

23. Press APPLY.
