1. Open MS Paint...Click on START>Program>Accessories>Paint
2. Open the file that contains your photo.
3. Click on the "Free Form Select" icon on the toolbar.


4. Very carefully trace around the edge of a small area of your body making sure you complete the enclosure.

5. Once complete, press the DELETE key.


6. Repeat the process..

7. For detailed areas...ZOOM IN.

 



8. From the menu bar, click on VIEW > ZOOM > LARGE SIZE.

9. Follow the same procedure and trace your image to delete the background.

 


10. To return to normal view...click on on VIEW > ZOOM > NORMAL SIZE.

11. Experiment with the CUSTOM feature....


12. Continue the steps above until you have completely eliminated background clutter.
13. Save your image. From the menu bar, click on FILE > SAVE AS. Be sure to save your image with a file name and location you will remember. Remember to "Save as Type" as a jpeg or gif. This is very important! Note the arrows to the right.
14. Return to your powerpoint file that contains your name that you created in wordart.

15. From the MENU bar, click on INSERT > IMAGE > FROM FILE.

16. Navigate to your picture.


17. Resize the image if necessary by clicking and dragging one of the four outer "handles" inward.
18. In order to eliminate the white background around your picture, it will be necessary to use the transparency tool. From the menu bar, click on VIEW > TOOLBARS > PICTURE to ensure the tranparency tool is visible.
