Information
1. The library is open from 7:30 A.M..
to 4:15 P.M. No passes are required to enter the library before or after
school. The library is open on Tuesday evenings until 5:00 P.M. Any change
will be announced that morning.
2. Arrangements to use the library during the school day can be made with
a classroom teacher who will issue an individual library pass.
3. During school time students must sign at the circulation desk. All
students are expected to remain in the library for the entire block unless
his/her teacher has specified on the pass that the student should return.
4. A John Jay I.D. is required to check out any book. Books may
be checked out for two weeks and renewed once. Students are not allowed
to check out books for other students.
5. All copies from the copy machine or printer are 10 cents per
page.
6. Students are responsible for paying for lost or damage books checked
out in his/her name. If a book, which has been lost and paid for, is found
in good condition, the money paid will be refunded minus the amount of
fine due at the time the book was paid for.
7. All fines and payment for lost books must be settled by the end of
each semester.
8.Overdue notices will be sent periodically to students through their
teachers. Students receiving these notices are expected to come to the
library to return books and pay fines as soon as possible.
9. Most reference materials are available for overnight check out. Magazines
are for in-library use only.
10. Any student disrupting the library will be sent back to his/her classroom.
His/Her teacher will be notified of the action taken and the student will
be subject to disciplinary action.
11. Internet access is available for curricular use by students who have
an AUP on file.
