Physical Education

Physical education classes at Jordan Middle School are co-ed and are designed to give the students a well rounded program which combines the history and rules of many individual and team sports, together with an introduction to community and recreational games. The physical education teachers include: Barbara Krueger (Coordinator), Nicole Kellman-Medina, Yvonne Hines, Curtis Pearson, Gary Martin, and Mark Salinas.

Students are graded in the following categories each six weeks period: Performance (50%), Cognitive (25%), and Psychomotor (25%). Students dress out daily in the school uniform. If a student forgets his/her uniform, he/she may borrow one from the P.E. teacher. Proper tennis shoes must be worn to achieve all points in the performance area of the grade.

Students who need to be excused from activity for an extended period of time must have a Restricted P.E. Form filled out by a physician.

Students in the 6th grade attend physical education classes for 24 weeks and Skills for Adolescence class for 12 weeks. SFA classes are designed to help the students with decision making skills. 7th graders attend physical education for one semester and computer literacy for the other semester. 8th graders attend physical education for the entire year.
