Theater Arts is taught by Mrs. Tina Tyler. This 6th grade class is designed as a 12-week introduction. Students learn pantomime, acting skills, movement, improvisations, monologue and duet interpretations. They also learn about group acting and television media through commercial performances.
The Theater Arts and Advanced Theater Arts for 7th and 8th graders focus on many topics such as music video performances and technical theater,including make-up, lighting, costume, set design, children's theater, movement, theater history, screenplay writing, and videotaping. Students also take part in a number of public performances.
The Theater Arts Department also sponsors the Drama Club. Any Jordan student may join at any time. The meetings primarily promote acting skills through performances and UIL acting competitions. Here is where the students are able to enrich and share their talents with others.
