IMMUNIZATIONS
We will be sending letters and calling parents whose children are not current for immunizations.   For example, many of the students who started school at 4 years of age, now require the second Measles vaccine at age 5.   Also, those who didn't receive the HEP A until school started are now due for their second.  Complete records are required for the class assignments for next year.   Students will not be assigned to at teacher until the shot records are complete.

ASTHMA
Orange Alert days are air quality health alert days. On Orange Alert days, those students with Asthma or other respiratory problems will be kept inside during recess & P.E.  If Field Day is an Orange Alert day, it will be rescheduled.

STATE MANDATED SCREENING
After TAKS tests are over, we will be screening for Scoliosis (5th grade) & Acanthosis Nigricans (the dark areas on the back of the neck which are signs of an elevated risk of developing Type 2 diabetes) for 3rd & 5th grades.   I will send a letter out before we screen for Scoliosis so parents can send a letter if they do not want their child screened.

Thank you very much!
