Grades ? Numerical grades are not given in Kindergarten, but your child will receive letter grades based on the Texas Essential Knowledge of Skills (TEKS). We will use daily journals, running records, and observations to evaluate and assess mastery of standards. In addition, we administer the TPRI and the DRA in Kindergarten.

Students reading below an emergent level at the end of the school year may be placed in first grade or retained in Kinder. To be promoted your child must be reading and comprehending at the emergent level. n ` Z

Students will be assessed and evaluated using the NISD Academic Standards. Nap time Children nap daily; 45 minutes in the Fall and 30 minutes in the Spring.
Towels will be sent home at the end of each week to be washed.
