Lackland City Elementary School
Library Page
The Lackland City Library is staffed by Connie Young, Librarian and Shelley Cavin-Smith, LibraryAssistant. Our library is open from 7:30 a.m. until 3:15 p.m. every day that school is in session. Our collection includes books, magazines, books on tape, videos and a growing Spanish section. Students come either weekly with their class or individually any day to select books to read for pleasure or those needed for research projects.
The
mission
of this library program is to provide students and staff the materials
and skills necessary for their classes and research needs. Our goal is
to improve students' reading abilities and to instill in them a love of
reading. The student who loves to read will do well in every area of
school.
We believe that it is paramount for our students to learn to use the
library
independently, to locate information using a variety of sources, and to
interpret and evaluate that information.
