Lewis Custodians Go Above and Beyond!

The Lewis Elementary custodians have received the Above and Beyond Award from the Maintenance & Custodial Department. Principal Lynda DeMasco compliments, “I can't think of anyone that deserves the award more. She works so hard for the staff and students at Lewis.”

Head custodian Grace Saenz and her crew, Sergio Antillon, Jose Capetillo, Rita Fernandez, Guadalupe Pitcher, and Maria Rodriguez were recognized with a plaque on Friday, September 28, 2012. In front of the entire Lewis staff Charles Rodgers, Custodial Supervisor and Micky Hansen the Assistant Director of Maintenance praised Grace and her crew with the highest accolade by observing the school as “looking like a new school”. Grace is dedicated to her crew and the entire Lewis community. She goes above and beyond to keep Lewis a clean, safe place where the students can learn.

This new award is given to honor the efforts of the best custodial staffs. Lewis is only the second school to be recognized with the Above and Beyond award. A larger plaque with the name of the past winner and Lewis will be displayed at the school until the award is given out again.
