Excited Teacher

Hello, I am the CIT at Bob Lewis Elementary School. I received my bachelor's degree from St. Mary's University. My first teaching job was in 1985 in Natalia, Texas. I attended UTSA and received a Master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction with a Reading Specialists certification. I taught 19 years in Natalia teaching 3rd grade, kindergarten, 4th and 2nd grade. Then I became the reading specialist/technology facilitator. I have just finished the PAVE program in which I rececived a Master's degree in Integrating Technology in the classroom.

This is my eighth year in Northside ISD. I taught 4th and 3rd grades and was webmaster at Westwood Terrace Elementary, before becoming the CIT at Bob Lewis in 2003. I work in the Content TIP Lab.

Mission Statement
My mission is to foster in my students a desire and the capacity to grow. To do this I must teach them that they need to develop goals and have a purpose. I must show them that it is up to them to accomplish these goals. They must believe in themselves. Only they can make things happen. I will show respect for them and their goals. I will be positive and enthusiastic about their goals. I will help them to take little steps, which lead to successes. I will teach them that mistakes and failures are not the end, but are, in fact, a means to growth and learning. I will have high expectations for my students. My students will feel that they can accomplish whatever they set out to do. They will have an ‘I can!’ attitude.
