My name is Marilyn Villarreal and I love to teach. I was born and raised in west Texas in San Angelo. I received my Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from the University of Texas at San Antonio with a secondary degree in Sociology. During my twenty-six years as a teacher, I have taught Pre-Kinder, Kindergarten, First, and Second grade.
I have been married to my husband, Rene, for thirty-one years and have one daughter, Crystal "Fiona", age 29. Additional members of our household are: 4 dogs( a German Sheperd mix "Snickerdoodle" , a chihuahua "Noodle", a beagle"Stinkerbell", and terrier"Hurley" ), 2 parakeets, 5 gerbils, 7 hermit crabs, and an old, but beautiful red Betta fish named "Ruby".
Things I really enjoy doing are spending time with my family going to Canyon Lake, reading, painting, going to the movies, going to SouthPadre Island, Galveston Island, and eating Mexican food-especially chips and salsa at Chili's and enjoying the yummy pasta at Olive Garden.
I look forward to a fun-filled year of exciting learning experiences !

7:40 Bell rings.(Walk to classroom from Kinder hallway waiting area)
7:45-8:30 Pledge/Announcements
Opening(whole group)Journal-morning message/Calendar/Math Action Wall/Oral Language Development/Story time.
8:30-10:50 Integrated Curriculum:Reading,Language Arts,Math,Social Studies, Science (centers, independent activities during group rotations/small group instruction).
10:50-11:00 Wash hands.Pass out lunch tickets.
11:00- 11:35 Lunch.
11:40-12:00 Recess. Organized recreational activities

12:00-12:10 Bathroom and water before specialists
12:10-12:55 Eight Day Rotation to Specialists(P.E., Music, Computer, Art)/conference period.
12:55-1:15 Math, Science, Social Studies, Oral Language Development (whole group).
1:15-2:00 Quiet Time.
2:00-2:15Snack.
2:15-2:35 Clean up. Pass out take-home folders. Closure of day's activities.
2:35-2:40 Line up/dismissal.
