Ms. Delp's students have a strong admiration for their outstanding fifth grade teacher.

“She makes us feel that when I wake up in the morning and it starts off bad, I know that when I come to school it will be a great day because she is here. I want to come to school and start learning again.” - Selena

“I think she does the best science labs in the school because we have fun and learn. I'm very thankful for what she's done for us and always will be.” - Larry

“I think Ms. Delp is a great teacher. She lets us have fun with education. She tries to make everything fair. It makes me want to go to school.” - Salvador

Although Jodee Delp is considered a new teacher, she has a style of teaching that shows that she is exemplary in the field. Her daily motto is that every child will learn. She does this by providing exciting, hands-on lessons. Quite often, she is able to incorporate technology in her lessons. Her students have created many technology projects that exemplify their knowledge of the skills being taught. To ensure that all students are learning, Ms. Delp provides enrichment centers on a daily basis. While students are engaged in these centers, she is tutoring students who are in need of remediation or enrichment. Her colleagues describe Ms. Delp as well prepared, organized and enthusiastic.

There is a strong sense of respect and rapport in her classroom. The students are fully aware that Ms. Delp has created a climate of learning.

Ms. Delp is outstanding due to the fact that she is always willing to go above and beyond the expected to see that her students are having a successful year. She does what is in the best interest of the students and staff. She often arrives on campus very early and she stays many late hours. She assists her team members and staff in incorporating technology into TEKS lessons. She is eager to assist faculty members in anyway. For example, she taught the 4 th and 5 th Grade Lewis choir to implement sign language into their holiday program. She shares her enthusiasm for learning and teaching with Lewis students and staff daily.

Ms. Hanna willingly contributes her efforts and time to the area of education. At a campus level, Ms. Hanna has developed a respectful rapport with students and staff. The campus has an awareness that she will provide assistance regarding anything from lesson integration to staff development. Sharon Browne, Lewis Principal, quotes, “Ms. Hanna supports our very large school with ease and with such a positive attitude. She always finds the time and energy to meet the varied needs of our many students and staff.”

At a campus level, Lewis begins each day with a morning broadcast and slide show prepared daily by Ms. Hanna. Aside from being able to educate and assist students throughout the school day, Ms. Hanna is always helping staff with various projects. Her expertise allows her to give leadership guidance in web pages, technology lesson integration, grade book application, and overall hardware and software technology support. She provides many technology based staff development sessions each year and the staff is always eager to attend.

Ms. Hanna's strongest attribute is that she is a team player. She is in attendance at after school functions such as: PTA, GT Orientation Nights, TAKS Parent Nights, Kinder Round-Up, and Lewis Family Nights and Events. Her willingness to participate and volunteer is always appreciated by staff and administration. Ms. Hanna never hesitates to help Lewis run smoothly. She is willing to provide class or office coverage in times of need. Aside from facilitating the Lewis Technology Committee, she also works on the Yearbook Committee and the AR Committee. Ms. Hanna spends many extra hours devoting her time to Lewis.
