The Margarot Langford Library

The Margaret Langford Library was named after the first principal of Dolores B. Linton Elementary. She was a NISD teacher from 1968-1974 and served as principal for two elementary schools, Cable and Linton, during the 70's and 80's. In 1974, when she became principal at Cable Elementary she was the third woman ever to be placed in a principal role in NISD. She remained principal at Cable until she was asked to open a new elementary school, Dolores B. Linton, in 1980. Margaret retired from education in 1984. Mrs. Langford died Wednesday, July 18, 2003 after a seven month battle with cancer. She was 67 years old. She will always be remembered as someone who touched thousands of students, faculty members, and friends. She may be gone but she is not forgotten.
