Our
integrated library program allows teachers, the librarian and
the CIT (Computer Instruction Technologist) to work together
on lessons that offer students a broad base of resources and
the knowledge to use those resources. Literary enrichment and
pleasure reading are also important parts of our program.
Our
library has an extensive collection of more than 17,000 books,
audio and video tapes, CD-ROM disks and periodicals. The electronic
catalog allows users to easily access the collection. Nine
Dell computers with internet access open up a world of information
for personal and academic interests, for AR testing and for
using such programs as Powerpoint and Kidpix.
The reading loft is one of the most popular spots
in our school. Students come to enjoy the loft during
free time or when they receive
a special invitation on their birthdays. On that day a student
may bring a friend to read in the loft. Students often choose loft
reading for classroom rewards. Our "Racecar Chairs" offer
another place for boys and girls to get away and read.
