Homework Activities
Every week a newsletter  will give important information on homework activities.
A homework worksheet will go home on Fridays for your child to find words and pictures that start with the letter of the week.  (This is usually due on Tuesdays unless a holiday conflicts.)
Our Language Arts curriculum will be introducing a letter of the alphabet and sight words.
We will be sending home a work page for parents and children and a small emergent reader.
These encourage other home activities and reading practice.
Book baggies for  borrowing  books on your child's level will be sent home in the Fall.  They are to read at their own pace and return for another.
They may also check out library books weekly for home reading.
Our Math curriculum also has a parent information sheet that suggests activities for parents to do with their children.
We will also be sending home Science and Social Studies activities that will require home study or research.
Other things to practice, practice practice:

  • write name in upper and lower case letters
  • write alphabet upper and lower case
  • write numerals 1-31
  • count to 100
  • practice sound association of letters of the alphabet
  • try to write a phonetic sentence to go with drawings
  • retell a story
