
Jack has been in the vehicle repair business full time since 1970. He owned and operated his own vehicle repair business from 1970 to 1993. He has been employed by Northside ISD since 1993 as a vehicle mechanic and promoted to his present position in 2005.
Jack also develops the specifications for all the new vehicles and machines and recommends which items are to be retired and auctioned. He and his staff do all the custom outfitting of our new units, modifying existing vehicles and manufacturing of specialized equipment required by our ever expanding District.
In addition, Jack works closely with our District Environmental Managers to reduce the waste products generated by our vehicles and to recycle all automotive by products. Jack also maintains our fuel stocks and dispensing equipment.

Maintenance has three vehicle repair shops at the present time with plans to expand to a fourth location soon. The Mechanic shop has a total of 9 on staff with a combined experience of over 150 years in full time vehicle and equipment repair.
The Vehicle Maintenance staff have the responsibility of maintaining and servicing every car, truck, trailer, and engine powered toll, mower, tractor, stationary generator and motor fueled machine in the entire District, a total exceeding 500 separate items.

Cliff Fernandez
I have been in the auto mechanic repair business since 1978. I was employed by Joeris & Clauss Construction Co., now known as Joeris Inc., as a full time mechanic on all of their vehicles and construction equipment . In 1989 I was hired by Northside ISD as a full time vehicle mechanic at the Maintenance Shop. I was promoted to Vehicle Mechanic Foreman in 2005 and am responsible for all the work done at the main shop including assisting the Manager in all daily paper work, quotes, bids and all other responsibilities for the operation of our mechanic shops.
