All AVID Students are required to participate in summer reading as follows:

Each advancing class is required to read two books and complete all work before the first day of school. Please see instructions below.

 

 

All Freshmen will read "Night" by Elie Wiesel and "Animal Farm" by George Orwell. Click on each book title for instructions on summer work with these books. All work is due the first day back to school to Ms. Blackwell.


 

All Sophomores will read "Lord of the Flies" by William Golding and "A Separate Peace" by John Knowles. A Dialectical Notebook will be created with 4-6 entries per chapter for each book. Click here to find Instructions for DNs. Both books' DNs are due the first day back to school.

 

 

AP Juniors will read "Grapes of Wrath" by John Steinbeck and one non-fiction. Click on the title and non-fiction to find instructions for the work. All work is due the first day back to school to Mr. Sullivan.
