
2008 Mock Election Project |
On Monday, November 3rd Marshall High School students were asked to participate in a mock election which included the race for President, United States Senator, Sheriff, Chief Justice Supreme Court, Constable - Precint #2, and the City of San Antonio - Special Election Proposition. Marshall students' votes will be tabulated with other schools from around the district, as well as the state as part of the student "Project Vote" program sponsored by the State of Texas. This project was a great success thanks to Mrs. Walters and her library staff, Mrs. Westmoreland and the social studies department, Ms. McKinzie and her Student Council members, Ms. Berce & Ms. Erlich and their NHS members, Mrs. Paul (Campus Instructional Technologist, Marshall High School) and Mrs. Sexton (Campus Instructional Technologist, Stevens High School). Below are the results from our campus election: |
President: John McCain/Sarah Palin (REP) - 38% |
U.S. Senator: John Cornyn (REP) - 39% |
Sheriff: Dennis J. McKnight (REP) - 44.1% |
Chief Justice, Supreme Court: Wallace B. Jefferson (REP) - 40.3% |
Constable, Precint No. 2: Johnny Bustos (REP) - 48.9% |
City of San Antonio - Special Election: *For - 58.4% |
