Part 2

Now, you are going to examine projects at LoTI level 3. Remember that a project at this level has to engage the student in higher level thinking--analysis, synthesis, evaluation. The computer does not have to be used to do the higher level thinking. For example, students could create a graph on the computer, but then analyze it in class as part of a discussion.

Read through the Content TIP lessons in your grade level to find level 3 projects. You will only be able to access the Content TIP lessons from a computer on campus.

Content TIP K-2 / Content TIP 3-5

Find at least 3 lessons in your grade level that have a LoTI level 3 rating. Briefly describe each lesson, and tell why you think it was assigned a LoTI level of 3. In other words, which part of the lesson has the students engaged in higher level thinking? Email this information to your course instructor.

Take a quiz to test your skills on rating projects. Then proceed with Part 3.
