| My name is Debra Tatum, and I am proud to be the principal at McDermott Elementary. I came to McDermott for my initial administrative position as vice-principal in 1993 after serving many years in Northside as a classroom teacher. I became the principal in 2003 and find it is a pleasure to work with the students, teachers, and parents in our school community. | Hello my name is Lilia
Aguirre and I am the Vice Principal of Robert F. McDermott Elementary
School. I was born and raised in Brownsville , Texas . I earned my Bachelors
in Interdisciplinary Studies with a Spanish certification and a Masters
in Educational Leadership from UTSA. I was a 5th grade teacher in La Joya
ISD, and a third grade teacher at McDermott before serving as the VP.
I enjoy being at McDermott because of the wonderful students, dedicated
teachers, and great parent support. I encourage you to become an active
member of the McDermott family by joining PTA, volunteering, or coming
