Library Policies and Information
Circulation
  • Students in 2nd through 5th grades may check out two books for a two-week period; students in Kindergarten and 1st grade may check out one book for a one-week period.
  • Parents are welcome to set up an account to check out books. Parents may check out up to five books for a two-week period.
  • No fines are assessed for overdue books.
 
Lost and Damaged Books
  • If a book is damaged beyond repair (any kind of liquid damage will generally render a book totally damaged), the user will be requested to pay for the replacement cost of the book.
 
Computer Use
  • The library has nine computers for student, staff and parent use. These computers are networked and have online access. In order to use a library computer for any reason students must have permission from a parent on file (as per NISD policy), and have earned his/her Internet Driver's License.
  • Parents and other community members must fill out an Acceptable Use Policy agreement and must sign in on the Library Computer Use Log each time before using a computer.
