Discipline Philosophy

The Northside Alternative High School embraces the "Boystown" discipline model. In each session, twenty-five minutes a day is devoted to a particular behavior skill. Each classroom teacher has been trained in the skills and all make the same skill presentation for the day. All skills are then practiced throughout the school day.

Parents are asked to read and sign the rules signifying they are aware of the expectations at N.A.H.S.

Detention Halls at N.A.H.S.

Students will be assigned to detention hall during regular school hours when it is felt that the time is needed for disciplinary purposes. Students placed in detention hall are expected to report promptly and have proper study materials upon arrival or they will not be admitted. Detention hall is closely supervised by a staff member, and the student is required to study. Failure to attend and/or to complete a detention hall in a satisfactory manner will result in more serious consequences.
