Students enrolled in several CATE courses worked to produce a tribute video to honor our country's veterans. NAHS is proud to share an exemplary iMovie created by one of our own students. The Veterans Day Tribute can be viewed here.
Thanksgiving Break will begin on Monday, November 24 through Friday, November 28. Students are expected to return back to campus on Monday, December 1st.
There will be an opportunity for students who did not successfully pass the required subject-level STAAR exams to retake them. From December 1st – December 5th, students will have the opportunity to retake the English I, English II, Biology I, Algebra I, and the U.S. History STAAR exams. Students should see the school counselor to verify eligibility retake the exam(s). For information regarding the STAAR, you can visit the NISD STAAR webpage.
Winter break will begin on December 22 and continue through January 2nd. Students will return to campus on Monday, January 5th.
NAHS has implemented Cartridge for Kids (CFK) recycling program. CFK is affiliated with Waste Management and has helped schools raise over $17 million since 1999. CFK pays for cell phones, laser & inkjet cartridges, laptops, MP3s, PDAs and tablets/eReaders/notebooks. CFK is a year-round fundraising service which helps to promote a more environmental friendly campus. If you have any of these items you would like to dispose of, drop them off to Ms. Camero.
October 23 - 31 is Red Ribbon Week. This year's theme is, "Love Yourself. Be Drug Free." Red Ribbon Week began in 1985 in memory of murdered DEA agent Enrigue Camarena. Today, the Red Ribbon serves as a symbol to mobilize communities to educate children and to encourage participation in drug prevention activities. For more information visit Red Ribbon.Org.
