The inventive mind

When I was a little girl, which I still am at heart, I would stay with my grandmother while my mother worked. I watched her cool, classy ways-- creating little sparks in her head to make me smile, turning on the radio, and singing with a broom as a microphone. I always got a kick watching her do the funny little things to keep me entertained.
My grandmother had a degree in theater and would often go. At the ages of four through six, I would travel to the theater with her. She inspired me so much with her creativity that I desired to walk in her footsteps.
At age four I was in the Christmas play. I was meant to play the part of an angel. Turns out not so much! Ha. Well here’s one for you.
My grandmother’s attitude leaped right out of me. Frequently, I would make funny faces. The audience would laugh at me. I completely loved it. The next morning getting ready, I had an idea. On stage I stumbled and fell on purpose. The reaction of the audience was incredible. I felt as if I was controlling the audience, and it felt good.
Now at age fourteen, I love to perform. It is the air I breathe, the milk in my cereal, and the sprinkles on my ice cream. It’s a way to show my inventive mind. I thank God for my grandmother every day and for how He made my grandmother and I so close. I hope I’m an excellent, crazy, and awesome role model for my kids and future grandchildren too.
