Do you love your best day ever? Well I do. But it wasn’t just
me who celebrated it. My best day ever was when my football team went
to the playoffs and won the championship. My football team went 8-0,
we had the best record in the whole entire leauge.Our team was the Columbia
Charros.
First, we had to go through hard training. We went through training for
two weeks. When those two weeks are over, it is time to practice our
plays. But before we practice our plays the coaches have to decide who
is going to be on defense and who is going to be on offense. They finally
finished deciding who will be on offense and defense, I was playing both.
I had to play offense first. I’m playing wide receiver and running
back. Now that I knew all my offensive plays, it was time to learn my
defensive plays.
Defense is my favorite side to be on because you get to knock somebody out, especially
the quarterbacks. My position is linebacker. I like my position because you get
to tackle a lot more. We didn’t get to finish all the defensive plays because
time ran out and we had to go home. But coach said we would finish tomorrow.
Finally school was over and I went to practice. The coaches said that after we
finished the rest of the defensive plays he would show us what to do at our positions
and how to do it. It was finally time for our first regular season game. Our
first game was against the Wildcats, we beat them 14-0, Our second game was against
the Cowboys, we beat them 21-7.Our third game was against the Eagles, we beat
them 7-0, Our fourth game was against the Hurricanes, we beat them 16-0.Our fifth
game was against the Buccaneers, we beat them 42-14.Our sixth game was against
the Rockets, we beat them 49-7.Now that we won six games we clinched a playoff
spot. Our seventh game was against the Bobcats, we beat them 56-8.Our last and
final game was against the Patriots, we beat them 16-8.One week after our last
game it was time for our first playoff game. We played the Patriots, we beat
them 49-42.Since we beat the Patriots we are going to the championship game.
There, we played at the Alamodome.In the last 30 seconds or so we were losing
14-7.We had the ball at the ten yard line. This was probably going to be the
last play of the game and our last chance to win. I did my route to the endzone,
I was wide open, I caught the ball and it was a touchdown but they called it
back because one of the linemen was holding. So now we had the ball at the twenty
yard line with 10 seconds to go, it seemed impossible. But nothing is impossible
right. I went for a pass again and I scored, “yes”, everyone yelled.
But we were still down 14-13, so everyone quieted down to wait for the coach
to make the decision to tie it up with an extra point or take a chance and go
for two. Coach decided to go for two, he told me to run the ball, and I was so
excited. I got to the one yard line and almost got tackled, but I used all my
strength and broke the tackle and scored a touchdown. “Yeah”, the
team, coaches, and fans hollered. Everyone ran onto the field.We won 15-14.After
they cleared the field they gave us our trophies, And I was M V P of that game!
And while we were leaving I could hear the commentator say”the final score
of this game was Columbia 15...Jefforson 14.And tonight’s M.V.P. is Jesus
Martinez.”
