Acceptable Use Policy - Student Use of Computers
Your child will be using a computer at Pat Neff Middle
School. In many classes, computer use is necessary. These include:
Computer Literacy, SRI Testing in Language Arts, READ 180, GT / TIPS,
Compensatory Math, Industrial Tech, Library research, and numerous
technology projects done by teachers in every subject. Written permission,
in the form of an AUP slip, must be signed by you before your child
will be able to get on any networked computer at Pat Neff Middle
School.
The Children's Internet Protection Act (CIPA, April
2001) requires that each school district receiving federal funds
(Title and E-rate) implement an Internet Safety Policy. Federal Law
and NISD Policy prevent any Northside ISD student from using any
networked computer in the District for any purpose without written
consent from the student's parent/guardian and the student's agreement,
in writing to abide by acceptable use policies, regulations and District
guidelines.
