Cynthia Settles Band Director Mrs. Settles received a Bachelor's Degree in Music Education from the University of Texas at San Antonio in May of 2004. She has played clarinet for 15 years in which she has performed with the UTSA Wind Ensemble for five years under the direction of Robert Rustowicz. She was a member of the All-State Band in 1998 and received scholarships for her musical achievements. These scholarships include the Tejano Music Scholarship, the Ford Salute to Education Scholarship, the San Antonio Education Partnership Scholarship, and the UTSA Young Artist scholarship in 1998. In 2001 she was a winner of the UTSA Concerto and Aria Competition in which she performed as a featured soloist with the UTSA Orchestra. She is married to Thomas Settles and they have two beautiful boys, Matthew and Charles. |
