What is band? Band is more than just a class. Music possesses the unique ability to speak to the mind without the use of words. Students develop camaraderie, an esprit de corps, which helps them deal with the daily pressures of being an adolescent. Many of our students view our band hall as their "home away from home." It is a place to meet new friends, give each other support, and learn in a safe, comfortable environment. If your child ever wishes to be a part of the Holmes High School Band or the Marshall High School Band, then they need to start in 6th grade Band. It is very difficult to start in 7th or 8th grade Band and also be successful in a High School Band.
