Welcome to Visual Arts!
The aim of this course is to build on student learning in four major areas of art study: Perception, creative expression, historical/cultural heritage and response/evaluation.
Students will have their artwork displayed at school or in the community (perception.) They will build a portfolio of artwork throughout the school year (creative expression) - this body of work will be used to show students their growth and development and to encourage students to reflect on their progress (response/evaluation.) We will also learn about art and artists (historical/cultural heritage.)
Artfest will be held in May. Approximately eighty of the very best examples of our student artwork will be displayed at this event. Students are also encouraged to participate in V.A.S.E., a visual ats contest, and in Los Leones, a student art show and sale.
For those students who can't seem to get enough art, Art Club meets after school on the 2nd and 4th Wednesdays of most months. Membership in Art Club is free and open to all Pat Neff Middle School students.
