Northside ISD launched one more way to keep its community informed and up-to-date on the news and events of the state’s fifth largest school district.

Since the beginning of the school year, InsideNorthsideRadio has been burning up the airwaves at 6 p.m. every Saturday on 930 AM KLUP . The radio show joins the “Inside Northside” media family, which also includes InsideNorthsideVideoMagazine and InsideNorthsideWeekly.

“Hopefully listeners will discover new things about the people and programs in Northside,” said Julie Ann Matonis, InsideNorthsideRadio ’s producer and host. “In 30 minutes, you’re able to talk about specific programs, departments and initiatives in greater details.”

District officials, staff and students have covered topics such as internet safety, child nutrition, college readiness and technology. Two-time guest Superintendent Dr. John Folks recently discussed growth, accountability and the upcoming proposed bond issue.

An upcoming show later this month will feature a principal, teacher and student from Business Careers High School talking about a new initiative to provide all students with their own laptops.

“Our district is growing so rapidly, it’s more important than ever to keep everyone informed,” Folks said. “What a great opportunity to reach out to our students, parents and employees, and especially the members of our community who don’t have children in schools.”

Every show is posted on the District’s web site after it airs so those who can’t tune in on the weekends can listen to the show at any time.
