NISD student named candidate for Presidential Scholar

Brian Van Eimeren, a senior at Health Careers High School, has been selected as a candidate for the U.S Presidential Scholars Program, one of the nation’s highest honors for high school students.

Scholar candidates are invited to apply based on college entrance exam scores. Van Eimeren received a perfect score of 2400 on the SAT. He is one of only two scholar candidates in San Antonio.

Semifinalists will be announced in mid-April, and Scholars will be announced in May. Ultimately, up to 141 students in the nation will be named Presidential Scholars.
