The Brandeis Broncos are almost ready to ride.
Northside’s newest high school is preparing to open in a few short months, and Brandeis Principal Geri Berger recently announced the hiring of several new staff members, including the vice principal, academic dean, band director, and athletic coordinator.
“We are working hard to hire the very best teachers and staff who are dedicated to the success of our students inside and outside the classroom,” Berger said.
Construction is on schedule for Brandeis to open in August 2008 for almost 2,000 students from Clark, O’Connor, and Marshall high schools. Only freshman, sophomores, and juniors will be enrolled for the first year the school is open. Twelfth graders in the Brandeis attendance zone will continue their senior year at their current schools.
Last October, students who will attend Brandeis next school year voted on their school mascot and colors. The mascot will be the Bronco; the school colors will be navy blue and flame orange.
Clinics and tryouts for the Cheer, Drill, and Dance teams will be held over the next month, as well as inaugural meetings for the PTA and athletic and band booster clubs, Berger said.
For the latest news and developments, Berger encourages parents and students to check the
Brandeis High School web page, which will be updated frequently.
