Christmas magic with Elf Louise

December 13, 2013

Students and staff at many of our schools participated in the Winterfest Helotes Toy Drive to benefit the Elf Louise Christmas Project. The project ensures that less fortunate children in Bexar County are able to enjoy the magic of Christmas with toys donated and wrapped by community volunteers.

Participating schools include Beard, Boone, Braun Station, Driggers, Helotes, Kuentz, Leon Valley, Oak Hills Terrace, and Ward elementary schools and Hector Garcia Middle School.

Winterfest Helotes organizer Gina Barbera; Bill Harrison, Executive Director of the Elf Louise Christmas Project; and elf helper Sean Habina collected the toys from each school.

“It was wonderful to see how generous the children and their families had been,” said Barbera. “It was such a fun and exciting day and I know how grateful the Elf Louise Christmas Project is to have these donations.”

Two National Junior Honor Society students from Garcia Middle School, Benton Surrett and Connor Hagy, organized a donation of $21,000 in toys from SeaWorld San Antonio.

Northside students and staff certainly helped spread the magic this Christmas with their toy donations and gifts of service.
