Northside ISD is a participant in the National School Lunch Program, which provides free and reduced-price meals for children from households with
qualifying incomes.
In addition, foster children who are the legal responsibility to a welfare agency or court may also be eligible for benefits regardless of the income of the household.
Families who have received free or reduced meals in the past must reapply each year within 30 days of the first day of school. The 2009-10 school year begins Aug. 24.
All NISD students may buy lunch for $1.75 at elementary schools and $2 at secondary schools. Breakfast may be purchased for 90 cents at all school levels. The reduced price is 40 cents for lunch and 30 cents for breakfast.
To receive free or reduced price meals for their children, individuals must complete an application and return it to the school or to
NISD Child Nutrition Department, 7520 Mainland Dr., San Antonio, Texas 78250.
Online applications and instructions are available in both English and Spanish.
