Connally Band students and directors have really taken advantage of the new teacher laptop computers. Teacher proximity to students always is a priority in large classes held in large rooms. Thanks to the laptops, the band room can be reset in any configuration and still achieve the highest level of student supervision. For example, the laptops allow the band directors to do attendance and grade entry while standing in any part of the room.
For the students, online resources can be accessed during class. The laptops become the class metronome, tuner, music center, and video player. By putting the laptop on a standard overhead cart and pairing it with a small amplifier, all of these resources available in every teaching environment.
The new laptops have been a great benefit to the Connally Band, which is continuously looking for new uses in the band classroom.
