As the cost of a college education continues to increase, more and more foundations, institutions and organizations are coming forward to assist students and their parents. Where do you go? Are you eligible? How do you qualify? These and other questions will be answered at the Northside ISD annual Financial Aid Family Night where parents and students can learn how affordable higher education can be. Sessions will be held from 6:30-8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 29 and Wednesday, Jan. 30 at the Northside Activity Center, 7001 Culebra (410 & Culebra Rd.).

"A college education is well within reach for the majority of students that graduate from high school, and knowledge about financial aid can open funding opportunities," says Deborah Healy, director of Guidance and Counseling for NISD.

The sessions will include a formal presentation on financial aid and scholarship opportunities with representatives from various local four-year and two-year colleges, and other organizations. NISD partners with financial officers of UTSA, ACCD, and COSTEP to sponsor this event. Spanish speaking counselors will be available.
