The Carson ES Chess Team placed third in the Texas Scholastic Chess Championships in March and student Brian Tomlin was crowned the Elementary JV champion.
Almost 1,500 students from 353 schools competed.
In addition to Tomlin, team members included Rudy Herrera, Spencer Palmer, Keaton Weissmiller, and Jonothan Starks. Their advisor is Tom McDonald.
