Westwood Terrace ES had the only NISD winners this year at the Abydos Writing Conference. More than 650 entries across the state of Texas were submitted.
Winners are first grader Erykah Guerrero, first place, "The Doctor Visit"; and kindergartner Isabell Garcia, second place, for "Skating." The students will have their winning prose published in the summer edition of the R and E Journal.
