Hi, I want to welcome you to Nichols Elementary School, a family friendly school that puts children first. Nichols Elementary opened in the fall of 2002 and since that time it has focused on creating an inviting environment for students, parents, staff and the community. At Nichols, learning is viewed as fun and it inspires thinking. The school provides a safe, caring and nurturing environment. Students participate in classroom meetings each week and mixed grade level advisory groups every other week that emphasize the six character pillars and provide a forum for students to solve problems and learn effective communication techniques. Our school slogan is, "DREAM It, Believe It, Achieve It." My education is founded in the Northside
Independent School District as I graduated from John Jay High School.
I received a Bachelor of Science degree in Education from Southwest Texas
State University and a Masters in Education Administration from Texas
A & I University. I was a 4th and 5th grade teacher as well as a middle
school Gifted and Talented Specialist for 6th, 7th and 8th graders before
becoming an administrator. I taught at Eduardo Villarreal Elementary,
E.M. Pease Middle School and Sam Rayburn Middle School. As a Vice Principal,
I served Colby Glass Elementary, Fernandez Elementary, Leon Springs Elementary,
John Glenn Elementary and Lloyd M. Knowlton Elementary. I served as Principal
of Knowlton Elementary for six years prior to opening Anna Mae "Mas"
Nichols Elementary School in 2002. | |
