NWC Counseling Program

Welcome to Northwest Crossings.  Mrs. Pratt works with students in grades Kinder and Second Grade.   Mrs. Johnston works with students in PreK, First, Third, Fourth and Fifth Grades.

We provide services to students in several ways.  We go into each classroom for classroom guidance once every 6 days.  Our lessons are focused around such topics as peer relationships, character education,  study skills, responsible behaviors, goal setting, multicultural awareness, self-esteem, conflict management, and career ecucation.

We also meet students' needs through individual and group counseling sessions, covering issues such as divorce, grief, coping skills, self-esteem, peer relationships, study skills, and responsible behaviors.  Referrals for this service are made by teachers, administrators, parents, and the students themselves.  Parents will be notified before students receive individual or group counseling.

Through individual planning, we help students set goals for academic and / or behavioral improvement.  We also help students with school changes, such as transition from elementary to middle school.
