Attendance / Morning / Afternoon Session
- Students who arrive after 7:45 am will be marked "tardy".
- Students who arrive after 9: am will be marked absent.
- Students who arrive after 11:50 will be marked "tardy".
- Students who arrive after 1:00 pm will be marked "absent".
- A written dated excuse needs to be sent with your child when he/she returns to school. If the school does not receive a written note stating the reason for the absence, the absence will be considered "unexcused". Please see the District Student Parent Handbook for Attendance Guidelines.
- If a child has excessive tardies and /or absences, their records will be reviewed by an attendance committee and parents will be contacted. If excessive tardies and /or absences continue, the student will be referred to the District Attendance Officer.

Illness
- Please keep your child home when he/she is ill. He/she should have a normal temperature for 24 hours before returning to school. Students recovering from communicable diseases must report to the nurse prior to being readmitted to the class.
- If medication needs to be administered at school, please: 1) All medication must be kept in the Nurse's office. No student may administer his/her own medicine. 2) Prescription medicine must be taken to school in a properly labeled prescription container. The pharmacy will usually put the medication in 2 containers, if requested to do so. 3) The administration of nonprescription medication is normally not permitted. (See Parent-Handbook)

Dismissal
- Please send a written request if your child needs to leave early or go home a different easy (i.e.: parent pick-up, daycare, back walker, etc.).
- Always check in with the office before visiting the room or checking your child out early.

Lunch
- Lunch cost $1.75. Dessert may be purchased for an additional cost.
- You may purchase lunch tickets in the cafeteria before school or you may send cash/check. If you send cash/check, please send it in an envelope or zip-lock bag with your child's name written on it.

Show 'n Tell
- S how 'n Tell is on Fridays when specified in the newsletter.
- Please do not send guns or expensive electronic games.
- Please do not bring toys to school except for show 'n tell.

Book Order
Book orders will be sent periodically. If you would like to purchase books for your child, please send a check payable to whichever book club name is on the order form. |

Spirit Day
Our school colors are red and white. Spirit day is on Fridays. GO N.W.C.

Class Parties
- We will have class parties to celebrate Christmas and Fiesta.
We will also have special activities during field day.

Communication:
- A communication folder, which contains a citizenship/work habits chart, will be sent on a daily basis.
- Graded work, newsletter and optional homework will be sent home periodically in the communication folder.
- Progress reports are sent home mid-quarter to students working below grade level.
- Grade cards are sent home every 9 weeks
- Parent-teacher conferences will be held in October.
- The PreKinder teacher is available to conference with parents before and after school. Due to meetings and other demands during the planning period, frequently we are unable to return phone calls before the school day is over. But, we will return your phone call after school.
