NASA Explorer School Kickoff

On Thursday, November 3rd was our NASA Explorer School Kickoff Event. Phil West, Jon Neubauer, Jennifer Becerra and Debbie Nguyen from NASA visited classrooms and shared NASA's vision for space exploration and answered students MANY questions.

During the Kickoff Ceremony, Oak Hills Terrace was presented with a Texas state flag that was flown on STS-114, the return to flight mission. Phil West was our keynote speaker, and talked to the students about space suit design and designing suits for use on the Moon and Mars.

During Young Astronauts, students got to explore the parts of the space suit more closely. One student even got to try on the sleeping bag!
