Officer Duties.

According to the bylaws of the OHT PTA:  

President.   Shall coordinate the work of the officers and committees of the organization in order that the objects may be promoted. Confirms that a quorum is present before conducting any business.  Preside at all meetings of the association.  Appoint a historian and parliamentarian.  Appoint chairmen of special committees.  Sign on bank accounts.  Be a member ex-officio of all committees except the nominating committee.  Perform such other duties as may be prescribed in the bylaws or assigned by the organization. 

Vice President.  Act as aide to the president.  Perform other duties as assigned by the president or the association. 

  • 1st VP shall act as aide to the president and shall perform all duties of the president in the absence of that officer and shall coordinate all fund raising activities. 
  • 2nd VP shall coordinate all activities pertaining to programs
  • 3rd VP shall coordinate all activities pertaining to membership and deal directly with parent volunteers. 
  • 4th VP shall coordinate all activities pertaining to public relations. 

Treasurer.  Have custody of all the funds of the association.  Keep books of accounts and records.  Make distributions as authorized by the president or board.  Sign on bank accounts.  Present financial statements at general meetings and board meetings.  Make a full report at the meeting at which new officers assume their duties.  Be responsible for the maintenance of such books.  Submit books to the audit committee.   

Secretary.  Record the minutes of all meetings.  Have a current copy of the bylaws.  Maintain membership listings.  Perform other duties as assigned. 

Historian.  Shall act as custodian of all records and materials pertinent to the history of the association and shall compile and keep record of events and activities to be presented as the official history to the general body for adoption at the annual meeting. 

Parliamentarian.  Shall attend all meetings of the association and shall advise on matters of parliamentary procedure when requested.
