Our Agriculture Science program provides
education and training that prepare an individual for careers in a diverse
group of occupations. Our program consists of 3 elements: classroom
instruction, supervised agriculture experiences and other FFA activities.
The FFA has the unique characteristic of banding people in the program
together, helping advance the program and the students toward success.
In the Fall O'Connor FFA participates in Leadership Development Events
such as parliamentary procedure, public relations, agriculture issues, FFA
Quiz, farm skills, and creed speaking.
In the Spring we practice Career Development Events such as: agriculture
communications, agriculture mechanics, agriculture sales, meats judging, horse judging, livestock judging, marketing plan development,
poultry judging and wool judging.
In addition there are numerous opportunities for members to develop
leadership, public speaking and personal growth skills. These include
holding a chapter office or serving on a committee.
