Library Helpers

Meet Mrs. Fowler, Librarian!

This is my third year as librarian at Ott Elementary. Before I was a librarian, I taught first grade, third grade, fifth grade, seventh grade, and eighth grade.  When I am not at work, my husband and I live in downtown San Antonio very near the River Walk where there is always something exciting going on!  We have two fabulous grown-up children, and four beautiful grandchildren.  My husband and I are active supporters of the San Antonio Symphony which performs right downstairs from where we live!  I love to visit with my grandchildren, travel to interesting places, read books, visit with friends, attend my church, and go to the Coast to relax and refresh.  I like to laugh, sing, eat chocolate, and go out to eat.  I am truly a blessed person.

Meet Mrs. Sparks, Library Assistant!

My name is Dianne Sparks.  I am the library assistant here at Ott Elementary.  This is my thirteenth year that I have been with the district.  The first three years I worked with a special needs child, one on one in a classroom at Adams Hill Elementary.  This opportunity was very educational, challenging and rewarding for me.  I have been a library assistant for the last nine years, seven years at Adams Hill and two years here at Ott Elementary.

I have lived in San Antonio for 39 years and graduated from John Jay High School here in Northside ISD.  I am married and I have two children.  My husband is a Director of Continuing Education Department at San Antonio College.  My oldest son is a senior and my youngest son is a sophomore at Earl Warren High School.

Meet Ottley, the Trailblazer Horse

I am Ottley, and this is my third year at Ott Elementary School.  Living in the library,  I talk and visit with students everyday.  I love reading books, and I want to help students find just the right book for them.  We also talk about how to take good care of books.  I love working with the students at Ott, and Mrs. Fowler and Mrs. Sparks are great!
